Comments: : Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie companies fought alongside the 1/50(Mech)
Infantry in and around the village of Dai Dong (Battle of Tam Quan) The fight there lasted 4 days, but the whole
battle lasted 14 days. I have identified those killed from the 1/50 Mech.

alongside A, B, C 1/8 Cav during the battle of Tam Quan (DEC 6-20,67) I was with
D Co 1/50 Mech Infantry and proud to have attached to the 1st Cav Div. The 1/8th
and the 1/50 Inf sustained casualties in Tam Quan.

Comments: : Good info. I remember when Aschenbrenner was killed. He was one of my OCS
classmates as was Freddie Hires. I was 1st Plt Ldr in C Co and PFC Monroe was my medic at the time he was killed.
